betrayal trauma counseling round rockLatina Griffin, LCSW

Everyone at some point comes to a place that we realize that “it’s not working”.  That it” is different for everyone. Maybe it is trying to manage unmanageable anxiety, depression, parenting, a relationship struggle or healing from abuse or a traumatic experience.  Therapy is absolutely about having a safe place to get it all out.  It is also a place to come to gain new perspectives and learn concrete tools and skills.  The goal is to help you find ways to be a better you, so you can feel better about who you are.

Your goals are my goals and if you are unsure what your goals are, we can create them together. Because each client is a unique individual, I take an eclectic approach based upon the needs of the client.

I specialize in working with partners betrayal trauma, PTSD and other forms of trauma, teens and families, intimacy disorders, anxiety, depression and codependency.

Betrayal Trauma: Partners of Betrayal

I have completed training in the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model with Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialist (APSATS) and I am a candidate for their certification upon completion of the supervision process.

If you are struggling with your partner’s sexual betrayal, I can help you take steps forward that support your well-being. I will help you understand what’s happening in your relationship, decide what you need, and teach you what to do with the intense feelings of fear, anger, and pain. You can feel in control of your life once again. In our work together, I will help you create peace in your home so you feel emotionally safe and can heal without being re-traumatized.

Whether your partner chooses recovery or not, we can work to get free of the confusion, shame, and fear you feel. You don’t have to be defined by your partner’s hurtful behaviors or their willingness to work on recovery and healing. Your healing journey is not about your partner, but is about you. You are worthy of healing and finding support.

Depression and Anxiety

Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, I’m able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.

Trauma and PTSD

Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events.  I can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.

Families and Adolescents

As a patient, you deserve a truly collaborative environment in which to identify the source of the symptoms that drove you to therapy in the first place. In my work with adolescents, young adults, adults and groups, we work together to strike at the roots of the symptoms, rather than the branches, so that you can create a life of your choosing.

My Philosophies

You are the expert in you. Using an integrated theoretical approach in my practice I customize a treatment plan to each clients’ needs.  Beginning from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy launching place, we’ll add pieces of a number of other theories and modalities to find a best fit for you.  Some of these include Solution Focused, Mindfulness, Attachment and Strengths Based therapies.  I hold to two very simple philosophies “we can do hard things” and “If I want things to be different, I have to do different things.”
